CESAR LOPEZ OF NETFLIX’S “IMMIGRATION NATION” TO VISIT IOWA AND DISCUSS THE PLIGHT OF IMMIGRANTS IN THE U.S. MILITARY
Latino civil rights organization, LULAC Council 307 to host star of national documentary at Des Moines Capitol.
Des Moines, IA – Time Magazine has called Netflix’s documentary “Immigration Nation” 2020’s most important show. The series’ third episode chronicles the deportation struggle faced by Cesar Lopez, an undocumented immigrant and former U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Now Lopez is coming to Des Moines to share his story with us.
This event is sponsored by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) of Iowa, Forward Latino and community activist Steve Villatoro.
Lopez’s appearance is scheduled for, Saturday, August 22nd, at 2:00 P.M. CST in at the Iowa State Capitol in Room 15 (lower level).
WHAT: Special appearance by Cesar Lopez to discuss the plight of immigrants in the military, the need for comprehensive immigration reform and to promote the Netflix series, "Immigration Nation."
